Missouri S&T Winter Band Concert to Feature Global Musical Journey
The Missouri University of Science and Technology’s arts, languages, and philosophy department will present its winter band concert this February, offering a diverse program of music inspired by cultures around the world.
The performance is scheduled for at 2 p.m. In Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located at the corner of 10th and Main Street on the Missouri S&T campus in Rolla, Missouri.
Dr. David Samson, assistant professor of music at Missouri S&T, will direct the University Wind Symphony. Samson described the concert as a “musical journey to Russia, Japan, England and back home to America.” The concert will also showcase performances by two student-led ensembles: the Movie Music Ensemble and the Saxophone Choir.
“The University Wind Symphony is excited to share this program of music inspired from around the world,” Samson said.
Tickets are priced at $5 for the public. Admission is free for youth aged 18 and under, and for Missouri S&T students with a valid student ID.
Tickets can be purchased in advance from 11 a.m. To 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Leach Theatre Box Office, located inside the main entrance to Castleman Hall, facing 10th Street.
