Ligaportal Achieves Record Results in 2025, Driven by Live Coverage and Innovation
Ligaportal.at has announced its most successful year to date, achieving record revenue and profits in 2025. The Austrian-based digital media platform, founded in June 2007, continues to thrive despite a challenging market for digital media, according to founder and CEO Dr. Thomas Arnitz.
“2025 was a milestone for us,” Dr. Arnitz stated. “We were able to surpass an already strong previous year in both revenue and profit. In the 18-year history of Ligaportal, 2025 was the most economically successful year. This is by no means a given, considering the overall development of the digital and media industry.”
The primary driver of this growth is Ligaportal’s extensive live ticker service. In 2025, the platform covered over 1,500 games weekly, ranging from international competitions to lower-tier Austrian leagues. This broad coverage has resulted in high reach and nearly one billion ad impressions throughout the year.
“The central success factor remains our Live-Ticker,” Dr. Arnitz explained. “In 2025, we covered over 1,500 games live each week – from international top competitions to the Austrian lower leagues. This enormous breadth of content is unique.”
In a media landscape where many companies are struggling with declining margins, Ligaportal has maintained profitability through a lean cost structure and consistent investment in automation and AI-powered processes. This combination allows the company to operate efficiently and economically, even with increasing reach.
“A key point is our very lean cost structure. At the same time, we have consistently invested in automation and AI-supported processes in recent years. This combination enables us to work efficiently and economically, even with increasing reach,” Dr. Arnitz said.
While specific revenue figures are not being disclosed, Dr. Arnitz revealed that the company’s profit margin remains around 35 percent, a figure he described as “an absolute top value” within the media and digital sector, and one that is viewed positively by Ligaportal’s majority owner, Styria Media Group AG.
Ligaportal’s commitment to innovation is also a key component of its success. The company continues to expand its applications of artificial intelligence and automate internal processes. A new AI project is slated for release in March, demonstrating the synergy between technology and editorial content at Ligaportal.
“Innovation is firmly anchored in our DNA. We have further expanded our AI applications and automated numerous internal processes. As early as March, we will present a new, very exciting AI project that will show how strongly technology and editorial content interact at Ligaportal,” Dr. Arnitz stated. “Our goal is to continuously offer Austrian football fans new added value – both technologically and in terms of content.”
Ligaportal currently ranks among the 20 largest internet portals in Austria, with between 10 and 11 million visits and 80 million page views during football months, according to information available on the Google Play store listing for the Ligaportal Fußball Live-Ticker app.
