In 2023, responding to fan inquiries on social media, Wollny indicated that a wedding would occur when the time was right, but acknowledged that the current circumstances weren’t conducive to planning one. With her daughter Loredana Wollny’s recent wedding to Servet sparking renewed discussion of marriage within Germany’s most famous large family, the question of Silvia and Harald’s plans resurfaced.
Speaking with BUNTE.de, Silvia Wollny affirmed that she and Harald remain a strong unit. “We still stand together,” she stated. “In terms of health, but also in all other matters, one is always there for the other – no matter what. That will always be the case, until the end.”
A History of Shared Challenges
The couple has faced significant hardships together. Harald Elsenbast has experienced two heart attacks in recent years, with his health causing considerable worry in the summer of 2024. Silvia Wollny herself experienced a health scare in 2024, receiving a stroke diagnosis following an MRI. Throughout these difficult times, the couple has consistently supported each other.
“Until the End”
That unwavering support continues, according to Wollny. “Harald and I are happy as things are – and that’s what counts,” she said. While Loredana and Servet’s wedding was a joyous occasion, Wollny expressed a pragmatic view. “Honestly, we’re at an age where we don’t need all that anymore.” This suggests that the couple, despite their long engagement, may have decided that formalizing their commitment with a wedding is no longer a priority.
Silvia Wollny was previously married to Dieter Wollny from 1983 to 2012. She met Harald Elsenbast through a dating app, and the pair have been together since 2014, also sharing a home.
