Kalkar, Germany – Paul Krohne continued his remarkable run of form this weekend, securing both Event 1 and Event 2 of the HYLO PDC Europe Next Gen series in Kalkar, Germany. The victories mark his third and fourth Next Gen titles placing him in an elite group of champions within the series.

The tournament, held in the unique setting of the former Kalkar nuclear power plant, saw Krohne demonstrate a level of dominance rarely seen in the burgeoning world of professional darts. His performance builds on a recent victory at the Dutch Open, establishing him as a leading force in European darts.

Event 1, held on , saw Krohne navigate a FA Cup-style format with impressive consistency. He defeated Lukas Sieger, Tim Ritter, Steven Kauk, Rowby-John Rodriguez, Cedric Jeske, Kevin Troppmann, Florian Preis, and Carsten Hoffmann en route to the final. His path to the final included a particularly strong showing, with averages consistently exceeding 90.

The final pitted Krohne against Jaimy van de Weerd, a Dutch player competing on home soil. However, van de Weerd was unable to replicate the success he found in reaching the final, falling to Krohne by a decisive 6-1 scoreline. Krohne punctuated his victory with a stunning display of scoring, including a 307 checkout with just six darts and a subsequent 10-darter.

“My goals this year have been reached relatively quickly, I have to say… What have we? February? (laughs),” Krohne said, reflecting on his rapid success in 2026.

The following day, , Krohne continued his winning streak in Event 2, played in a Master-Out format. He overcame Tom Barthel, Martin Lorenz, Maximilian Willer, Benjamin Krauspe, Sebastian Stute, Patrick Klingelhofer, Florian Preis, Michael Klonhammer, and Mika Donnevert to reach the final once more.

The final saw a tougher challenge from Dragutin Horvat, with Krohne needing to demonstrate resilience to secure the victory. The match featured a 10-darter from Krohne to level the score at 1-1, but Horvat proved a tenacious opponent, pushing Krohne to the brink. Krohne prevailed 6-4, converting his seventh match dart to claim his second title of the weekend.

With this double victory, Krohne joins Niko Springer and Daniel Klose as record champions of the HYLO PDC Europe Next Gen series, each holding four titles. More impressively, Krohne has now achieved 31 consecutive match wins across all competitions, and remains undefeated in 48 matches played in Kalkar.

“It’s nice, so it feels good. I’m looking forward to being at home, but it’s still fun!” Krohne commented on his record-breaking achievements.

The success of 18-year-old Florian Preis, reaching the quarter-finals in both events, and 16-year-old Luca Wolff, reaching his first Next Gen semi-final, also highlights the growing depth of talent within the series.

The next HYLO PDC Europe Next Gen events are scheduled for and in Hildesheim, Germany, and will feature a FA Cup and Double-In/Double-Out format.

Krohne’s consistent performance raises questions about his potential to transition to the main PDC circuit. His current form suggests he is a player to watch closely as he continues to climb the ranks of professional darts.
