Foo Fighters ‘Take Cover’ Tour 2026/27: Australia & New Zealand Dates Announced

Foo Fighters are bringing their ‘Take Cover’ tour to Australia and New Zealand this November and January, adding to their already extensive touring schedule that includes dates in the UK, Europe, and North America. The announcement, made on , fulfills a promise made by frontman Dave Grohl during a performance in Tasmania in January.

The Australian leg kicks off on at Lang Park in Brisbane, with subsequent shows scheduled for Townsville (), Sydney (), Newcastle (), Melbourne (), and Adelaide (). The tour then moves to New Zealand with performances in Christchurch () and Auckland (), before concluding in Perth, Australia on .

Grohl hinted at the Australian return during a one-off gig in Launceston on , stating, “We’ll be back here sooner than you think,” and adding, “And it’s before my next birthday.” His prediction proved accurate, with the tour dates announced well before his .

The ‘Take Cover’ tour is notable for its national scope, differing from many pop stadium tours that concentrate on Sydney and Melbourne. The band specifically added shows in Newcastle and Townsville following their positive experience playing a single show in Tasmania. “We have these little meetings sometimes where the band sits around at the studio with all of our team and we think of fun stuff to do and, you know, all roads lead to Australia,” Grohl explained.

Supporting the Foo Fighters across the tour will be a diverse lineup of Australian artists, including Full Flower Moon Band, Mini Skirt, Downgirl, The Bellair Lip Bombs, Teens, The Buoys, C.O.F.F.I.N, Frenzee, Kurralta Park, Spooky Eyes, Dartz, Seek Help!, Dick Move, Ringlets, The Southern River Band, and Last Quokka. The varying support acts will appear at different shows throughout the tour.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on at 12:00 PM local time in all cities, with a slight variation for Melbourne, where sales begin at 11:00 AM. A pre-sale will be available on at the same time. Tickets can be purchased through the Frontier Touring website.

The tour announcement comes amidst hints of new music from the band. Foo Fighters have been sharing snippets of new songs on social media, described as sounding “very screamo.” This follows the release of their album ‘But Here We Are’ in 2023 and the single ‘Today’s Song’ last summer, marking their 30th anniversary. Grohl confirmed in January that a new record had been completed, with further teasers subsequently released online.

The band’s recent activity suggests a continued creative momentum following a period of significant personal loss and reflection, documented in ‘But Here We Are.’ The upcoming tour and potential new album signal a renewed chapter for the Foo Fighters, solidifying their enduring presence in the rock music landscape.
