They say it well in Cocoonly what is forgotten dies and yesterday thousands of attendees gathered to remember the loved ones who came before them and celebrate the Day of the Dead in a completely different way with Coco: A concert to remember.

Everything was ready to live an unforgettable experience that invited thousands of fans to enter the world of the dead captured in the successful Pixar film, but minutes before the event, things started to get complicated with a light rain that came to stay and with hallways o La Plaza México was packed, preventing people from accessing their seats, which caused the show to be delayed for more than 45 minutes.

But the complications took a backseat as soon as host Angélica Vale announced the third call and Karol Sevilla appeared on stage to light things up with her rendition of The Bikini. After his great performance, the rain came down and Vale appeared on stage to welcome the public to a party to celebrate life, love, but above all Mexican roots and traditions.

“It’s a great celebration of our ancestors and the songs that unite us, a celebration of the family and everyone who came before us. Are you ready for an unforgettable night full of color and joy?” said the artist who ended the night She wore a Mexican pink skirt and crop set with a white mariachi jacket, floral details and a pony tail that made her look absolutely beautiful.

The celebration started with the theme Miguel’s streakplayed by Carlos Gatica and Sofía Garza, he dressed as a charro and she in a skirmish white suit, but more modern with a corset, and surrounded by huge luminous alebrijes above, to begin the memorable encounter, and as if by art oh magic, the rain stopped.

So the screening of the film began and excitement took over the audience, who by then had already forgotten about any inconvenience. The exhibition was interspersed with musical numbers which, together with Silvia Lozano’s National Folklore Ballet dancers, all dressed with their bones exposed for the occasion, an ensemble group also dressed in calacas that mingled amongst the public to encourage them between dances and songs. , a grand live orchestra that walked each segment directed by Chacho Gaytán and projections such as the facade of Miguel’s house, walls full of marigolds and candles, cut papers, embroidery of traditional settings, the pantheon of Santa Cecilia and many other magical sets in captivated the audience: whole families who came, including children, grandparents and parents, to enjoy a different evening.

To add to this immersive experience, in addition to these numbers and the sets collected before entering, such as the scanners that gave access to the World of the Dead, of course as long as your photo is in the offering, and others of yellow Mary flowers, the Attendees could also go to the makeup stations where you could turn into a skull in no time.

The Calacaplayed by Hector Osobampo and Camila Fernández; The Witchby Sofía Garza, accompanied by dancers dressed in typical costumes of the Port of Veracruz and candles on their heads, and La Sandungaby Natalia Lafourcade surrounded by dancers in typical Oaxacan costumes, part of the first set, but the excitement came with Andrés Ruanova’s numbers with Little Crazywho appeared dressed as Miguel, the main character of the film, and Angélica Vale, who was with her version of The Lloronahis performance alongside Gatica, thrilled fans who were delighted to see one of the film’s most important scenes come to life.

“If you want we can go. Whatever you say, daughter,” a father is heard saying to his daughter, as the rain continued to intensify, but even soaked and with wet seats, children and parents did not give up and lived the this film until the end, which, as already It’s normal, made some people cry.

The meeting of more than two hours ended with everyone’s favourite: remember me sung by Natalia Lafourcade and Mario Bautista, who appeared in the credits to share the ending with the brave audience who, already covered in raincoats, bags and jackets, remained faithful to the show and celebrate it until the end.

As a final surprise, all the participants arrived on stage to perform the classic Coco once again in unison, but this time in karaoke mode, so that this time there was no one who did not join in, closing the meeting between streamers and smiles.
