Tadej Pogačar‘s helmet of choice gets an upgrade

If you watch Tadej Pogačar ride, you’ll often see tufts peeking out of his helmet. That helmet – influenced by sponsorship – is the Met Trenta 3K carbon, and it has now received an update.
Met has revised the Trenta 3K Carbon with a new carbon skeleton and updated venting. Met claims a 16 percent betterment in ventilation from the front, and a 5-star safety rating from Virginia Tech, representing a 40 percent improvement in linear and rotational impact testing compared to the previous model. The new Airframe, a carbon wing structure, is said to remove 3PS from the internal frame.
Weight has increased by 40 grams (to 265 grams claimed in a size M), but the helmet remains among the lightest available with this level of ventilation. For those prioritizing ventilation, this new Trenta 3K Carbon is a strong contender. However, an aero-centric helmet generally offers more gains with minimal effort unless conditions are exceptionally hot.
The met Trenta 3K Carbon is priced at £350 / US$450 / €400. See more at met-helmets.com.
BMC has an all-new set of one-piece handlebars that might require you to take out a loan

BMC has introduced a new one-piece handlebar for its road lineup, specifically for its Masterpiece Mpc.The handlebar, dubbed the “Cockpit ICS Carbon Aero mpc,” boasts a striking design.
The bars are similar to the Aero Cockpit found on the BMC Kaius and Teammachine R road bike. They feature a 37 cm width at the hoods and a 42 cm width in the drops, achieved through 12 degrees of flare from the hoods to the drops, offering a narrow position in the hoods and increased control in the drops.
BMC currently lists the handlebars in four sizes, based on stem length (90 mm to 120 mm). It’s unlikely BMC will offer different widths, mirroring the current non-MPC handlebar. However, for those seeking a high-end handlebar to complement their BMC (or other bike) with internal or under-bar cable routing, this is a viable option.
The price? $1250. See more at bmc-switzerland.com.
