A 34-year-old woman and her two children aged 2 and 4 were found charred in a car in the neighborhood of Dalbérgia, in Ibirama, in Vale do Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, this Thursday (29).
The person who committed the crime is Gilson Haskel, the victim’s husband and the children’s father. He was arrested in Cascavel, Paraná, when he tried to escape to Paraguay. To the Prime Minister, he said “it was motivated by the debts accumulated by the couple and the woman’s intention to divorce.”
On social media, Gilson (aged 38) had a profile shared with his wife, who had been missing since last Tuesday. Representative Elisabete da Cruz Pardo, who was in charge of the case, confirmed that the man was also the father of the children.
Edinéia Telles (victim) and her children had been missing since Tuesday (27). Family members even shared requests for help to find them on social media.
The police are continuing to investigate the case to find out how the victims died. The killer said he used two firearms to commit the crimes, but did not explain whether the victims were alive when he set the car on fire.
