Dynamo Pardubice will not proceed with their scheduled preparatory match against Bern Swiss on Friday, August 22, 2025.A rapidly spreading virus has swept through the team, forcing a premature end to their ten-day pre-season training camp in Switzerland and Germany.The decision was made after a significant number of players and team staff began exhibiting symptoms.
Players affected and Timeline
The initial wave of illness struck on Thursday afternoon, sidelining six players: Peter Čerešňák, Tomáš Dvořák, Libor Hájek, Robert kousal, Miloš Kelmen, and Patrik Poulíček, along with members of the team’s communication staff. Following thursday evening’s match against Fribourg-Gottéron, additional players, including Robin Kaplan, began to show symptoms. By Friday, the situation had deteriorated to the point where only 13 healthy players remained.
“We are now 13 healthy and we do not want to risk the health of players,” stated Dynamo’s sports director, Petr Sýkora. “We decided to end the tournament in Yverdon prematurely and we will travel home.”
Camp Performance and Previous Results
Prior to the outbreak, Dynamo Pardubice participated in the Landshut Cup, defeating teams from Landshut, Frankfurt, and Neumarkt to claim the tournament title. After relocating to switzerland, thay achieved a decisive 6-0 victory over Ajoie. however, their subsequent match against Fribourg-Gottéron resulted in a 2-3 loss while playing with a reduced roster.
Looking Ahead: Recovery and Preparation
Sýkora confirmed that the affected players will receive several days of rest and recovery. The team will resume preparations for the upcoming competition next week, including one final preparatory match before the season officially begins. The focus will be on regaining full strength and ensuring all players are fit and ready to compete.
