Delhi Election Heats Up: AAP Promises Cash, Rivals cry Foul
New Delhi – The race for Delhi is intensifying, with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) promising a monthly stipend for women and rivals accusing them of empty promises and hypocrisy.
AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the “Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana,” pledging to provide Rs 2,100 per month to every woman in Delhi. This move comes ahead of crucial elections in the national capital.
“These women belong to their (Congress and BJP) party. They have not come from Punjab, the women in Punjab are with us. They have faith in AAP. Congress and BJP should officially announce that they are contesting elections together against AAP in Delhi,” Kejriwal declared, dismissing concerns from the opposition parties.
The Congress, which previously held power in Punjab before AAP’s victory in 2022, has cautioned delhi residents against what they call “fake and bogus promises.” Senior Congress leaders from Punjab warned women about the Rs 2,100 monthly stipend, citing unfulfilled promises made in Punjab three years ago.

Union Home Minister Amit shah joined the fray, criticizing Kejriwal for allegedly building a lavish “Sheesh Mahal” worth Rs 45 crore for himself, contrasting it with his earlier promises of simplicity and austerity.

As the battle for Delhi intensifies, it remains to be seen whether AAP’s promises will resonate with voters or if the opposition’s attacks will sway public opinion.
