The Importance of Blood Donation in Senegal
Blood donation plays a crucial role in Senegal’s healthcare system. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), access to safe blood and blood products is essential for effective healthcare delivery. Senegal, like many developing nations, faces ongoing challenges in maintaining a sufficient and safe blood supply. Initiatives like the LASG80 blood drive are vital in addressing these needs.
The Centre National de Transfusion Sanguine (CNTS), Senegal’s national blood transfusion center, works to ensure the availability of safe blood for patients across the country. Community-led efforts complement the CNTS’s work by increasing awareness and encouraging voluntary blood donation.
