Abu Dhabi Tourism Surges, Hotel Occupancy Rises

Abu Dhabi experienced a significant boost in tourism in March, welcoming approximately 417,000 hotel guests. This surge underscores the emirate’s growing prominence as a global tourism destination, driven by diverse accommodation options and high hospitality standards.
The emirate’s 171 hotel establishments, offering 34,341 rooms, recorded over 1.2 million guest nights. The average hotel occupancy rate reached 69%, with revenue per available room (RevPAR) averaging $132.
Revenue streams included $94 million from room bookings, $62 million from food and beverage services, and $10.3 million from other sources.
International arrivals were led by non-Arab Asian nationals, totaling 152,000 guests.European travelers followed with 123,000, and UAE nationals accounted for 58,000 stays.
Luxury hotels remained a popular choice. Five-star hotels hosted 205,000 guests, including 78,000 Europeans. Four-star hotels welcomed 119,000 guests, while three-star and lower-rated properties recorded 54,000 guests. Serviced apartments hosted 38,000 visitors.

These figures align with abu Dhabi’s 2030 Tourism Strategy, which aims to attract 39.3 million annual visitors, create 178,000 new tourism jobs, and expand hotel capacity to 50,000 rooms.
