Get ahead in your education by enrolling in WNC’s accelerated online classes this winter. Whether you want to catch up, learn new topics, or fast-track your degree, Western has options for you.

Accelerated Courses:

Five-Week Courses (Dec. 16 – Jan. 17):

  • Business 299 — Real-world business topics.
  • Management Science 323 — Data-driven decision-making.

Three-Week Courses (Dec. 30 – Jan. 17):

  • History 105 — European Civilization up to 1648.
  • History 290 — The Roaring 20s.
  • Information Systems 101 — Essential tech skills.

Registration: Register now to make the most of your winter break!

The Spring 2025 Semester starts on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Returning students can register now. New students can register starting Monday, Nov. 11.

ROADS and Auto Mechanics Tour Carson City Toyota

Students from WNC’s ROADS program and Automotive Mechanics class toured Carson City Toyota. They learned about the car service intake process, vehicle technology, parts preparation, and car detailing. Service Manager Jeff Hawkins discussed job opportunities and the importance of further education and ASE certifications for success in the automotive field.

WNC Auto Mechanics Instructor Alex Street noted that students learned how auto dealerships operate and what to expect in their future careers. ROADS program Liaison Kara Spracklin thanked Campagni Auto Group for their support of WNC students.


Scholarship Opportunities for CTE Programs

The William N. Pennington Foundation Career and Technical Education Scholarship supports students pursuing high-demand careers. WNC students can apply for funding for programs such as Automotive, Welding, Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing, Construction, CIT, Truck Driving CDL, and Phlebotomy. Homeschool Information Night on Nov. 14

WNC offers dual credit opportunities for homeschoolers. Students can take college courses alongside their high school curriculum. Join WNC for a Homeschool Information Night on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Bristlecone Room 344 on the Carson City campus. Learn more at wnc.edu/homeschool.


WNC Participates in Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

WNC’s Healthy Campus and Environment Committee hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness trail walk on Oct. 30. Participants, including Dr. Dalpe, wore pink shirts during the scenic 1.5-mile hike behind the Carson City campus. Thank you to everyone who participated in this important event.
