ACS International Student Chapter of Shahjalal University Receives $1,000 Grant
The ‘ACS International Student Chapter’ of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology has been awarded a $1,000 grant to foster interest in chemistry among students, provide opportunities for educational professional development, and facilitate networking in the field of chemistry.
Fariha Sanjida, Vice President of the ACS International Student Association, SAST, confirmed the news on Tuesday, September 3.
The ACS International Student Association, SAST, has received an ACS Corporation Liaison International Chapter Grant from the American Chemical Society (ACS), which will provide the chapter with a $1,000 grant. The primary objective of this grant is to establish connections between the academic world and industrial life.
Established in November 2023, the ACS International Student Association, SAST, is an organization of ‘International Student Chapter’ associated with ACS. The institute conducts student-oriented programs in accordance with the regulations of the American Chemical Society.
The Shabi Chemistry Department currently has 54 active members in this chapter. The organization’s goal is to create interest in chemistry among students, provide educational professional development opportunities, and create a platform through networking collaboration in the field of chemistry.
Habibur Rahman, founder president of ACS International Student Chapter, stated, “Our primary aim is to acquire leadership qualities through various co-curricular activities alongside education. This chapter’s journey began with the intention of connecting with the international community.
Rahman added, “We have already accomplished a significant amount of work, and this grant will motivate us to work with renewed enthusiasm.
