Main Story: “Phantoms – Part Six”

  • Writer: Mark Waid
  • Artists: Clayton Henry, Michael Shelfer

Superman, Jor-El, and Lara face a council regarding Jor-El’s use of the Phantom Zone projector. After a tense meeting, they leave but learn that Jor-El plans to use a stolen wristband to aid Superman. Meanwhile, Aethyer’s anger grows, threatening Earth with immense power.

Story Rating: 4/5
Comments: The story provokes thoughts about the true nature of Jor-El versus Superman’s perception. Lara is portrayed as a powerful ally. However, the subplot with Conner and Keenan feels out of place.

Art Rating: 5/5
Comments: The artwork by Henry and Shelfer is stunning, effectively depicting Krypton and the Phantom Zone.

Story Rating: 2/5
Comments: The narrative lacks excitement, and the characters fail to engage the reader.

Art Rating: 3/5
Comments: The art is adequate but doesn’t elevate the story.

  • Writer: Joshua Williamson
  • Artist: John Bogdanove

Perry White reflects on his past and his journey to becoming mayor of Metropolis. The next day, he celebrates his victory.

Story Rating: 4/5
Comments: This nostalgia-driven story provides a heartfelt moment for Perry White.

Art Rating: 4/5
Comments: Bogdanove’s art captures the essence of the story well.

Cover Art Rating: 4/5
Comments: A strong cover that highlights key moments in Superman’s history.

  • 4/5: Lex Luthor with Kryptonite
  • 4/5: Superman over Kent farm
