Peaty, part of Great Britain’s defending Olympic champion team in the mixed relay, did not participate in Saturday’s final. Other potential team members for the final include Richards, Tom Dean, Duncan Scott, and James Guy, who secured gold in the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay.
Peaty expressed that he doesn’t expect to be at full strength for the next few days.he added that he was happy to have completed a heat swim, marking his first intense activity since the previous Sunday’s final. Despite a difficult week,he remains hopeful for advancement.

“Everything’s come at once. As COVID, it’s just every day waking up with a different thing,” Peaty said.
