Atlanta— The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has opened two additional disaster recovery centers in Blaine and Screven counties to provide one-on-one assistance to Georgia residents affected by Hurricane Helene. The centers are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., including Veterans Day this Monday.

All centers are accessible to people with disabilities or those with access and functional needs and are equipped with assistive technology.

Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Benhill, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bullock, Burke, Butts, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Charlton Tam, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Columbia, Cook, Dodge, Echols, Effingham, Elbert, Emanuel, Evans, Fulton, Guerra Scock, Green, Hancock, Owen, Jeff Davis, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Lanier, Lawrence, Liberty, Lincoln, Long, Lowndes, McDuffie, McIntosh, Montgomery, Newton, Pierce, Laban, Richmond, Scriven, Stephens, Taliaferro, Tatnall, Telfair, Thomas, Tift, Toombs, Troit Homeowners and renters in Allen, Vail, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Wheeler and Weeks counties can visit any open center to meet with representatives from FEMA, the State of Georgia and the U.S. Small Business Administration. No appointment required.

You can also use the FEMA app or call a toll-free number800-621-3362Apply. The telephone hotline is open every day and offers help in most languages.

Disaster assistance teams also went deep into the disaster-stricken counties and went door-to-door to help survivors register for assistance.
