Expanded Parking Available at Place Darche in Longwy-Haut for the Holidays
Longwy-Haut is once again offering expanded parking at Place Darche to support holiday shopping and festivities. The initiative, known as “White Square,” transforms the central area of the square - between the Saint-Dagobert church and the Siege Well – into a free parking zone.
Additional Parking Through Early 2026
Motorists can take advantage of approximately 80 to 100 additional free parking spaces now available and continuing through the end of January 2026. This annual program has become a cornerstone for supporting local businesses and easing parking congestion during the busy end-of-year season.
A Community-Driven Initiative
The ”White Square” operation has been running for 13 years, initiated by the Darche association. Local residents and businesses have consistently expressed their appreciation for the added parking, with some even requesting the program be extended year-round due to ongoing parking challenges in the area.
Winter Sales Support & market Considerations
To further boost local commerce, the parking expansion will be particularly focused during the initial weeks of the winter sales period.Please note that the expanded parking area will be temporarily removed on Thursday mornings to accommodate the weekly market,but will reopen to vehicles each afternoon.
Extended Shopping Hours
Many businesses in the vicinity will be observing special hours, including being open on Sunday, December 21st. this provides shoppers with increased opportunities to support local retailers.
Parking is open seven days a week at Place Darche in Longwy-Haut.
