Adena Health Begins Construction on New Fayette County Medical Center

Adena Fayette Medical Center” />Adena Health has commenced construction of the Adena Fayette Medical Center, a critical access hospital, in Fayette County, Georgia. The new medical center, featuring 25 beds, aims to improve local healthcare access and boost economic development in the region.
The 65,000-square-foot facility,slated to open in 2027,will provide a range of services,including specialized care in orthopedics,oncology,pulmonology,and OB/GYN services (excluding delivery). The Adena Fayette Medical center will also offer robotic-assisted surgeries and enhanced diagnostics, such as cardiac CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine.
An on-site pharmacy will provide convenient prescription services. Upgraded surgical suites, a dedicated care unit, private emergency and inpatient rooms, and improved public spaces are also planned.
Jeff Graham, president and CEO of Adena, emphasized the project’s significance. “The new Adena Fayette Medical center represents more than just an upgraded hospital,” Graham said. “This project reflects our belief that rural communities like this one deserve innovative care, modern facilities, and long-term investment, especially as healthcare is rapidly changing.”
Emily Johnson, Adena Medical Group’s chief medical officer, highlighted the benefits for care teams. “This new hospital gives our care teams the tools, space, and technology to not only continue providing the care our patients and their families deserve close to home, but to elevate it even further,” Johnson said.
Located on the Columbus Avenue campus in Washington Court House, the hospital’s construction will not interrupt existing services. Patients will continue to have access to their healthcare providers and specialists throughout the building phase. The design incorporates glass, stone, brick, and composite panels, mirroring the surrounding farmland.
