Preston Vance: Absolutely, and thank you for having me. ‍The first time I ⁢met ⁢jon was during the COVID ⁤pandemic at The Nightmare Factory. I was trying to find my footing in wrestling, having just auditioned for AEW but⁤ without a signed contract.⁤ To be honest, ‍I was quite nervous. But from the moment⁣ Jon walked in, he exuded an aura of confidence and⁤ kindness that put me at ease.

Interviewer: That’s splendid to hear. It must have been‍ daunting to be in that position. How ⁣did your relationship with him⁤ begin?

Preston ⁢Vance: Once Jon joined AEW, he quickly became a big part of the locker room. He had this incredible ability to see potential in others, and he immediately ⁤recognized it in me. He was ⁢one of the first to reach out and offer his help, which ‍was surreal. During that time, ‍he ⁢genuinely advocated for me to AEW CEO Tony Khan.

Interviewer: Advocacy in such a competitive environment is invaluable. Can you elaborate on how he helped you in your ⁤early career?

Preston⁣ Vance: ⁣ Definitely. ‍Jon saw potential in‌ me and knew ⁢I‌ had‍ what it takes. He made inquiries about my contract status when there were some hesitations from AEW officials. Rather of‍ just leaving it there, he ⁤insisted on taking me under his wing. It was his belief in me that eventually led to my involvement in the Dark Order, which completely changed the trajectory of my‍ career.

Interviewer: The‍ Dark Order became‍ such a ⁤pivotal part of your story. What did it mean to you to be part of that group, especially under Jon’s‌ guidance?

Preston⁣ Vance: Being part of the Dark Order was an‍ incredible honor. Jon was the‍ glue that held us together, and his mentorship gave me the confidence to grow as ⁣a performer. Even after ⁤his tragic‍ passing, I continued ‍to perform as‍ “10”, a tribute to the bond we⁤ had.

Interviewer: Transitioning to working with La Faccion Ingobernables must have been ‌an exciting step for you, but I imagine you carry‌ Jon’s teachings with you.

Preston ⁣Vance: Absolutely. I’ve moved⁢ forward with my career in Ring of Honor, but⁣ the ‍lessons Jon taught me about ⁢generosity, camaraderie, and ⁢believing in others⁤ are principles ⁢that guide me every day. He had a unique way of lifting⁣ others up, and I strive⁣ to do the same in my wrestling journey.

Interviewer: ‍it sounds like⁣ jon Huber’s legacy lives on through ⁢your ‍actions and career. Any last‍ thoughts⁤ you want to share about him?

Preston Vance: Jon was more⁣ than just a talented ⁣wrestler; ‍he‌ was a beacon of kindness⁤ in a tough industry. His impact on my life ⁢and the lives of so many‍ others is a testament to his character. ⁤I’m ⁢forever grateful for his ‌belief in me, and I hope to ‌honor that legacy by helping others, just like ‍he did.

Interviewer: Thank you, Preston, ‌for sharing these heartfelt memories. Jon ⁤huber’s influence will certainly be remembered, and it’s inspiring to see how he continues to shape the future of wrestling ⁣through people like you.

According to Vance, Huber advocated for him by asking AEW officials about his contract status. When they hesitated, Huber insisted on taking Vance under his wing.

Vance performed as “10” in Dark Order, even after Huber’s death. He later joined La Faccion Ingobernables and is now wrestling more often in Ring of Honor. Huber’s mentorship left a lasting mark on Vance’s career, showcasing his generosity and belief in others.
