Afimico Pululu: Sturm Graz Make New Offer for Jagiellonia Star

by David Thompson - Sports Editor

Sturm Graz has made a new proposal to Afimico Pululu, the 26-year-old forward currently with Jagiellonia Białystok, offering a 2.5-year contract. However, the move appears to be in jeopardy as Pululu has reportedly rejected the initial offer, according to Piotr Koźmiński.

The Austrian champions were keen to acquire Pululu during the winter transfer window and were prepared to enter negotiations with Jagiellonia. While Sturm Graz may attempt to persuade the player to reconsider, time is running out as the transfer window in Austria is set to close within the next few hours.

Pululu, a French-Congolese centre-forward, is in the final season of his contract with Jagiellonia Białystok and has attracted interest from several clubs. He has also been linked with Dynamo Kyiv, as well as unspecified teams from Major League Soccer and the Brazilian top flight. Jagiellonia Białystok, however, has recently taken a firm stance against selling their star player, rejecting all offers received, according to a statement released by the club on .

The Polish club hopes to extend Pululu’s contract, which is currently set to expire in June 2026. President Ziemowit Deptuła stated that “All offers received for Afimico Pululu have been rejected.” This decision came after a period in 2025 where offers ranging from €1.3 million to nearly €3 million were turned down.

More recently, Jagiellonia Białystok has re-evaluated its position, now expecting offers in the region of €4 million for Pululu, hoping to secure a fee comparable to the transfer of Patryk Klimala to New York Red Bulls for the same amount. Reports from January 2026 suggested that an offer of around €3 million could potentially convince Jagiellonia to sell.

Despite the club’s initial resistance, there have been ongoing discussions regarding Pululu’s future. Sport.pl reported that three offers were made for the player, but Jagiellonia was not compelled to accept any of them. Łukasz Masłowski, the sports director of Jagiellonia, emphasized the club’s desire for Pululu to remain and extend his contract.

Interest in Pululu extends beyond Europe. MLS clubs have reportedly expressed interest and there was also speculation of a potential move to the Brazilian top division, though the player reportedly prefers a move to a “solid league in Europe.” Rumors of a transfer to La Liga, the Eredivisie, and Ligue 1 surfaced in late 2025, but all were contingent on Jagiellonia being unable to agree to a contract extension.

Pululu has been a key player for Jagiellonia Białystok since arriving in 2023. He established himself as a significant contributor under Adrian Siemieniec and was last season’s top scorer in the Conference League. In the current 2025/2026 Ekstraklasa season, Pululu has scored 7 goals and provided 1 assist in 16 appearances. Across all competitions this season, he has netted a total of 14 goals.

The situation remains fluid, with Sturm Graz potentially making a renewed effort to secure Pululu’s signature before the transfer window closes. However, Jagiellonia Białystok’s firm stance and the player’s initial rejection of their offer suggest that a deal is far from certain. There was also a suggestion that a club from the Polish Ekstraklasa might still attempt to secure his services.

Sturm Graz currently sits in third place in the Austrian league table, and adding a proven goalscorer like Pululu would undoubtedly bolster their attacking options. However, whether they can convince the player to change his mind remains to be seen.
