Africa Energy & Oil Gas Summit Namibia 2025
AfricaS Energy Future shines Radiant: Namibia to Host Landmark Summit in 2025
Windhoek, namibia - Africa’s energy sector is poised for a transformative leap, and the International African Energy, Oil and Gas Summit (IAEOGS) is set to be a pivotal catalyst. returning to Windhoek,Namibia, from October 6 to 9,2025,for its fourth edition, the summit promises to be the largest and most ambitious yet, connecting global investors with the immense potential of the African continent.
In a year where Africa has already attracted over $120 billion in new investments, with a significant $75 billion fueling oil and gas projects,IAEOGS 2025 arrives at a crucial juncture. This surge in investment underscores Africa’s emergence as a prime destination for energy ventures, driven by its rich natural resources and a burgeoning market.
“Africa is not just rich in resources, but also rich in possibilities. The time to act is now,” declared justice Suleiman Galadima (retd.), chairman of the Advisory Board of APM, the summit’s organizers. He envisions the 2025 edition as a platform for unprecedented partnerships and knowledge sharing, fostering a more resilient and dynamic energy landscape across the continent.
A Bridge to Opportunity
Mr. Noah Ajare, Group Chief Executive Officer of APM, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the summit’s role as a vital bridge connecting global companies with African markets. “Africa’s energy sector is ripe for investment,” Ajare stated, “and the IAEOGS 2025 summits and exhibition serve as a bridge connecting foreign companies and their African counterparts.”
The scale of IAEOGS 2025 is impressive. Organizers anticipate over $1 billion in investment deals to be signed during the event, facilitated by more than 500 scheduled business-to-business meetings. Over 1,000 exhibitors will showcase cutting-edge products and solutions spanning oil, gas, renewables, hydrogen, infrastructure, and finance.
Key Themes Shaping the Future
The summit will delve into eight major thematic tracks, addressing critical aspects of Africa’s energy evolution:
Energy Transition Strategies: Charting a course towards sustainable energy development.
Local Content Development: Empowering African communities through resource utilization.
Infrastructure and Grid Expansion: Building the backbone for reliable energy access.
Climate Finance and ESG: integrating environmental and social responsibility into investment decisions.
Regulatory Reforms and investment Protection: Creating a stable and attractive investment climate. Gas Monetisation and LNG: Unlocking the value of Africa’s vast gas reserves. Downstream and Midstream Value Chains: Fostering local processing and manufacturing. Digitalisation with Emerging Technologies: Leveraging innovation to optimize energy operations.
A Continent of Untapped Potential
With over 1,000 delegates, 250 exhibitors, and 200 speakers expected from at least 45 countries, IAEOGS 2025 will be a melting pot of expertise and opportunity. Africa’s proven reserves of over 125 billion barrels of crude oil and approximately 620 trillion cubic feet of natural gas position it as a key player in the global energy arena. The African Continental Free Trade Area (afcfta), estimated to unlock a $3.4 trillion market, further underscores the critical role of energy infrastructure in driving the continent’s economic growth.
nigeria’s Leading Role
Nigeria,as Africa’s largest oil producer,is expected to play a significant role in the summit. The rise of indigenous oil companies, now contributing over half of Nigeria’s total crude output, highlights the growing capacity within the continent. The recent launch of Nigeria’s first fully indigenous onshore crude export terminal by Green Energy International Limited at Otakikpo in the Niger Delta, with a capacity of 360,000 barrels per day, exemplifies this progress. Green Energy International has also been announced as the gold sponsor of IAEOGS 2025.
