Tunisia Secures Victory Over Gambia in African Cup of Nations Qualifiers

Tunisia scored a goal in each half against the Gambia national team in the second round of Group A of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday.

Ali Al-Abidi opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a header after he collected a rebound from Gambia national team goalkeeper Sheikh Sebi following a direct free kick taken by Mohamed Ali bin Ramadan.

The Tunisian side did not hold on to their lead for long, as Ali himself equalized three minutes later with an individual effort from Yankouba Menteh on the right and a cross that Soweh absorbed and shot a ball from close range that deceived goalkeeper Aman Allah Mamish.

But in the 75th minute, Mohammed Ali Ben Ramadan returned the advantage to Tunisia with a penalty shot from Royed Bauchneiber’s cross.

Tunisia lead Group A after picking up full points from two matches, while Gambia are second with a point.
