The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ivan Peshev, has ordered an immediate ‍verification​ of the ⁣State Enterprise “bulgarian‍ Sports⁣ Totalizer” (BST) following‌ a compromised drawing in the “Second Toto Chance” game (5 out of 35) on March 23,‌ 2025, according to a⁣ ministry statement.

The ministry described the situation, in which ⁤thousands of​ players were misled by an incorrectly drawn number, as “vrey disappointing” and said it “questioned the work of the BST management.” The​ error, where the last number of the winning combination was incorrectly drawn as 41, is “unacceptable” ‌and undermines public confidence in the sports gaming system, the statement continued.

To ensure fair play and protect the interests of lottery players, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MMC) is referring the matter to multiple agencies, including the National Revenue Agency, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, the ‍Ministry‍ of Interior, the State Financial⁤ Inspection Agency, and the State Agency for⁣ Metrological and Technical Supervision. A thorough investigation into the Bulgarian Sports Totalizer is underway. The ministry ​stated that those ⁤responsible will be ⁢removed from their positions.

The MMC emphasized that broadcasts of the drawings are ⁤conducted in real-time to maintain public trust in the Bulgarian Sports ⁢Totalizer. The ⁢ministry guarantees that wiht appropriate action, such incidents will‌ not be repeated.

Peevski Calls for Resignations

Earlier, Delyan Peevski, leader of DPS-New Home, called on Minister Peshev to dismiss the Totalizer’s ⁤management following the error in the⁤ “5 of 35” drawing.

Peevski stated,On national air,tonight we witnessed a grand blunder in drawing the numbers from the circulation of the game of the Bulgarian Sports Totalizer ⁤”5 of 35″ and one of⁢ the winning numbers was 41. The money‌ people⁣ give for sports ‍goes into the pockets of schemes.

Peevski also‍ called for the​ immediate dismissal of the Bulgarian Sports Totalizer’s management and urged the National ⁢Revenue Agency to conduct a thorough ‍inspection of the Totalizer’s activities, citing concerns about potential abuse and fraud. in order to investigate a possible criminal scheme,we will bring the prosecutor’s office,as ⁢the competent authorities must determine whether it is a single blunder or a scheme of abuse, Peevski said.

The Bulgarian Sports​ Totalizer released a⁤ statement explaining the incident:

Due to the loading of a different set of balls in the ​gaming facility during the draw of a second⁤ toto ⁢chance – 5 of 35 in ⁢the edition 24 and for observance of Article 23 of the gaming conditions and rules for organizing and conducting the game “Toto 2 – 5 of 35” and art. 30 of the⁤ gaming conditions and rules for organizing​ and conducting online on Toto 2 – 5 of 35 games, a ⁣re -download​ was undertaken within the broadcast, broadcast‍ live, on a new combination as follows:

the statement further clarified⁣ the process for determining winning‌ combinations:

(1) The determination of winning combinations⁤ in “Second toto Chance” shall be made after the completion of the draw in the ​game “Toto 2 – 5⁢ of 35”, referred to in Art. 22, para.1, but no later than conducting‍ the next circulation ⁢of the‌ game “Toto⁤ 2-5 of 35”, as ⁣follows:

1. Download five balls ‍with numbers from 1 to 35, without returning the downloaded balls to the ​playing facility;
2. Download⁤ two balls of a set of 12 balls, of which:​ 10 are marked with the number “1,” one is marked with the number “3,”‌ and one is marked with the number “5.”

The corrected winning combination for the Second Toto Chance (5‍ out of 35) for circulation 24 is:
