The French Coach’s⁣ Agent ‍Denies Any Saudi Contact

Frenchman Hervé Renard, the former⁣ coach of the Saudi national⁤ team, has refused to comment on the news that he will return to the leadership of the “Al-Akhdar” club in the coming period.

Renard, ⁣in an exclusive statement to Asharq Al-Awsat, said ‌that the best way to deal with the news of his return to coach “Al-Akhdar” is to contact the Saudi Football Federation directly.

Renard stated, “The best way is to contact the Saudi Football Federation directly, as it is the responsible party concerned to answer any inquiries regarding this matter.”

Renard, 55, previously took charge of the Saudi national team in 2019 and led them to the 2022 World Cup, after topping the Asian group, ⁤which included Japan, Australia, China, and Thailand.

For his part, Renard’s ⁢agent, Frenchman Yad Farid, confirmed that the Saudi Football Association has not contacted‍ him about his client’s return ⁣to coach “Al-Akhdar”.

Farid explained in a media statement, “I have not contacted the ⁢Saudi Football Federation nor‍ have they contacted me about this matter. I am currently leading the Saudi national team ‌and cannot say more than that, so ⁢as not to exaggerate the matter.”

Farid confirmed that Renard has several coaching offers on‍ the table⁢ for several teams, but it is too early to talk about them.

The first Saudi national football team, which collected 4 points from two matches in the decisive Asian qualifiers to qualify for the ⁢2026 World Cup, is preparing to face the ⁣Japanese⁤ national team next October 10 (October) in Jeddah.

Notably, Japan, ⁤Australia, Indonesia, China, and Bahrain ‌are in the “green” group of qualifiers.
