Security camera footage captured the boy slipping from the clothesline on the building’s second floor. Ragab sprinted underneath the drop zone and intercepted the child just before impact. After securing the boy, the video showed Ragab looking back up toward the balcony before walking away carrying the child and leaning against a mattress placed on the street.

Ragab, who works in his father’s shop, explained to local media that his reaction was entirely unplanned. I had no time to think or calculate the risks, Ragab said, as quoted by Khaleej Times. The only thing on my mind was trying to save this child before he fell to the ground. He added that he felt deeply shaken afterward as he tried to process the event.

Following the rescue, online commentators and local media praised Ragab’s swift response and labeled him a hero for his intervention. In his remarks to local media, Ragab urged parents to maintain strict supervision over young children. He advised against leaving children unattended near balconies or windows, particularly when furniture or chairs are positioned nearby.
