AHY Emphasizes Central-Regional Synergy for Transmigration
Transmigration Transformation: A Collaborative Roadmap for Indonesia’s future Economic Centers
Denpasar,Bali – July 28,2025 – In an era where integrated progress and regional economic growth are paramount, coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development (GPA) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) has underscored the critical need for strengthened collaborative roadmaps between central and regional governments to drive the national transmigration transformation. Speaking at the National Technical Working Meeting on Transmigration Affairs in Denpasar, Bali, AHY emphasized that the success of this enterprising undertaking hinges on a unified approach, moving beyond siloed efforts.
“No single ministry can work alone,” Minister AHY stated via video message. “The Coordinating ministry of GPA will serve as the orchestrator. However, true synergy can only be achieved when all ministries, local governments, universities, and businesses play their roles harmoniously.” This sentiment highlights a strategic shift towards a more inclusive and coordinated governance model, essential for unlocking the full potential of transmigration areas.
The core objective of this transformation, as articulated by AHY, is to cultivate new economic centers within transmigration regions, thereby enhancing the welfare of both transmigrant populations and their host communities. This vision extends beyond mere infrastructure development, aiming to foster comprehensive, enduring, and livable economic and social ecosystems. “We are developing integrated economic zones in transmigration areas, not just through building roads and bridges, but also by fostering sustainable and livable economic and social ecosystems,” AHY explained.
This strategic pivot signifies a departure from traditional government-led financing models. minister AHY articulated this evolution: “We are shifting from a model where the government finances everything to one where the government leads and harnesses all potentials.” This approach prioritizes leveraging partnerships with private investors and fostering collaboration with local governments to ensure that infrastructure development is not only continued but is also strategically driven by synergistic efforts across all stakeholders.
Minister AHY also extended his recognition to the Ministry of Transmigration for its dedication to creating greater opportunities for synergy between central and regional authorities. He expressed a forward-looking aspiration: “Let us realize transmigration as a driving force that can transform discretion into frontline leadership under the guidance of Minister of Transmigration M.Iftitah Sulaiman.”
The technical working meeting in Bali is anticipated to be a crucible for generating innovative ideas and concrete strategic steps. The ultimate goal is to amplify the role of transmigration in promoting equitable development and elevating the overall welfare of the Indonesian people.
As Indonesia continues to navigate the complexities of national development, the principles of collaboration, integrated planning, and synergistic resource mobilization championed by Minister AHY in the context of transmigration transformation offer a foundational blueprint for sustainable growth and prosperity across the archipelago. The ongoing evolution of these strategies will undoubtedly shape Indonesia’s economic landscape for years to come.
