AI’s Role in Healthcare: MedCity Conference to Explore Ethics, Efficacy

The medcity INVEST Digital Health conference, in collaboration with Health Wildcatters, will take place sept. 18 at Pegasus Park in Dallas. The conference will delve into the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, addressing ethical considerations, challenges like AI “hallucinations,” and practical aspects such as efficacy and return on investment.
Confirmed speakers include Terry Doyle, Managing Partner at TELUS Global Ventures; Vickram Pradhan, Vice President at Sopris Capital; Jennifer Goldsack, CEO of the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe); Soumi Saha, Senior Vice president of Government Affairs at Premier; and Anika Gardenhire, Chief Digital and Change Officer at ardent Health.
Organizers are still seeking speakers to address topics such as standing out as an AI startup, the rise of AI labor, building responsible AI, transforming patient experience with AI, evaluating AI efficacy and ROI, and AI’s impact on health equity.
The conference will also feature pitch Perfect, a startup pitch contest for digital health companies using AI to improve provider workflows. Applications are open to startups that streamline diagnosis, documentation, scheduling, or patient engagement. The deadline to apply is July 19.
Pitch Perfect offers startups a platform to showcase their technology to investors, healthcare executives, and industry innovators. Participating startups will present their technology and answer questions from investor judges, who will also provide feedback.
