AI Awards 2024: Celebrating Innovation in Healthcare, Sustainability, and Technology
Pfizer and Irish Life won big at the 2024 AI Awards. Pfizer’s ‘Smart Factory Co-Pilot’ improves manufacturing processes using AI. Irish Life’s CARA speeds up claims processing, enhancing customer satisfaction.
Other winners focused on early cancer detection, child protection from cyberbullying, and reducing carbon emissions through remote working hubs.
The awards, powered by AI Ireland and sponsored by Microsoft Ireland, support AI growth in Ireland. The ceremony took place at the Anantara Marker Hotel in Dublin.
Mark Kelly, founder of AI Ireland, highlighted the power of Irish innovation in healthcare and sustainability. Ronan Geraghty from Microsoft Ireland emphasized their commitment to nurturing the AI ecosystem in Ireland.

BuyMedia for its AI platform aiding SMEs in advertising through data-driven insights.
5. Best Application of AI in a Startup:
Durotimi AI for enhancing early cancer detection for GPs with AI analytics.
6. Best Application of AI to achieve Social Good:
CeADAR ReLeafHubs for Remote Working Hubs, using AI to reduce emissions and support rural economies.
7. Best Use of Responsible AI and Ethics:
Chirp for its solution that blocks harmful content, ensuring child safety online.

9. AI Person of the Year:
Ciaran Gilligan-Lee for his research in causal AI at Spotify.

Emerald de Leeuw for her work in AI ethics and governance at Logitech.

Nadeem Rather from University College Cork for his research on integrating AI into Chipless RFID systems.
12. Young AI Role Model of the Year:
Ana Le Chevillier for her contributions to the AI_PREMie project in improving preeclampsia diagnostics.
