Brisbane Mansion Listed Amid Entrepreneur’s AI-Driven Sell-Off
A sprawling Brisbane mansion, ‘Hacienda’, has been listed for sale with a price tag of $25 million, as its owner, property entrepreneur Emil Juresic, moves to liquidate his entire real estate portfolio. The decision, according to Juresic, stems from concerns about the disruptive potential of artificial intelligence and its anticipated impact on the economy and property values.
Located at 3/249 Harts Road, Indooroopilly, the three-level residence spans 1400 square meters and overlooks the Indooroopilly Golf Course. Juresic, founder of NGU Real Estate, previously rebuffed offers as high as $22 million for the property a couple of years ago, but now believes the time is right to sell. The listing comes as Juresic publicly voices his fears about widespread job displacement due to AI, leading to reduced borrowing power and a subsequent decline in property prices.
‘Hacienda’ boasts five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a six-car garage, a dedicated home office, and three distinct entertaining areas. For those seeking wellness amenities, the property includes a commercial-grade gym, steam room, sauna, and a private cinema. The estate’s design prioritizes privacy, being one of only three homes directly bordering the golf course, offering peaceful views and seclusion just 4.5 kilometers from the Brisbane city center.
The property’s lavish features extend to the exterior, with an 18-meter heated lap pool overlooking the golf course. The home itself, completed in 2023, incorporates $1 million worth of natural stone, $200,000 in Gaggenau appliances within the kitchen, and a 6-meter marble island. Outdoor amenities include a built-in barbecue, teppanyaki grill, wine fridges, a bar, pizza oven, and a rotisserie costing $120,000.
The master suite occupies an entire floor, featuring a living room with a fireplace, a travertine-adorned en suite with a circular tub, and a walk-in wardrobe complete with a champagne station and make-up lounge. The property also includes a hidden panic room and is equipped with $500,000 worth of smart home automation technology.
The listing of ‘Hacienda’ arrives amidst a strong Brisbane luxury property market. Late last year, a property in New Farm sold for $25 million, setting a new record for residential sales in the Queensland capital, though that property is slated for demolition to make way for a new build. The buyer was identified as Jeff Wasley, managing partner of Chemist Warehouse.
Juresic’s decision to sell his entire portfolio, including his own home, is a bold move predicated on a specific economic forecast. He believes that a significant downturn is coming, and that selling now will allow him to repurchase properties at substantially lower prices in the near future. He stated on a podcast that he anticipates being able to buy back his properties for half their current value within two years.
The interiors of ‘Hacienda’ were designed by Maison Elise Studio, with custom-made furniture selected by Studio Collective. The property is being marketed by NGU Real Estate.
