AI Trust: Security and Privacy Concerns
Las Vegas – After showcasing increasingly personal TVs,smarter home devices, and AI experiences integrated into daily life,Samsung emphasized a crucial point at CES 2026: without security and privacy,AI will never be truly trusted.
During the panel discussion ‘in Tech We Trust? Rethinking Security & Privacy in the AI Age’, Samsung and industry experts addressed a frequently overlooked aspect of futuristic demos – how AI should be designed to be secure, clear, and give users control.
The panel highlighted that in an age where AI is present in almost all devices, from smartphones and TVs to smart refrigerators, the biggest question isn’t about sophistication, but how user data is handled.
Transparency
Transparency was identified as the foundation of trust, as users need to know whether AI is processing data directly on the device or in the cloud, what data is being processed, and which features genuinely utilize AI.
“When talking about AI, users want transparency and control. This visibility builds trust,” said Open Machine CEO Allie K. Miller.
This approach is known as trust by design AI, built from the ground up with security and privacy as integral components.
