Nugent’s solicitor, Patrick Higgins, has stated that his client maintains any sexual activity was consensual. During formal police interviews, Nugent reportedly asserted this claim.When initially charged,Nugent responded with a firm denial of the allegations,stating: “I deny the allegations – it was consensual.”
