Two illegal immigrants are facing charges after a jet ​ski accident on Lake Grapevine, Texas, resulted in the death of 18-year-old Ava Moore over memorial Day weekend. Moore, an Air Force cadet candidate, was⁤ killed while kayaking when she‌ was struck by a jet ski.

Daikerlyn alejandraa Gonzalez-Gonzalez, 22, the‍ suspected driver, is charged with second-degree manslaughter. Maikel Coello Perozo, 21, is⁢ accused of helping her flee the scene. Both are from Venezuela and were ‍arrested in Dallas.

Perozo​ allegedly hit another vehicle ⁤while speeding away and faces charges of collision involving vehicle damage and ⁣hindering ‌apprehension. An arrest affidavit indicates that both⁢ suspects had packed suitcases when apprehended.

According to reports, perozo admitted to assisting Gonzalez-Gonzalez to evade capture. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department led the examination⁣ into‍ the fatal incident.
