Following Thursday’s Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, western India, tributes are being shared for the British passengers who perished.The Boeing 787-8, bound for London Gatwick with 242 aboard, went down shortly after takeoff. The Air India plane crash is under investigation.
Among the 53 British nationals on board was Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, believed to be the sole survivor. Details are emerging about other British victims, including Akeel Nanabawa, his wife Hannaa Vorajee, and their daughter, all residents of Gloucester. The British nationals were among those mourned.
Fiongal and Jamie Greenlaw-Meek were also passengers on the flight.
Rising stars YFC posted a tribute on Facebook, calling Akeel Nanabawa a “community diamond” and remembering his daughter, who often attended training with her father.

According to Flightradar24, the 10-year-old Dreamliner reached 625 feet altitude before descending at 475 feet per minute. The signal was lost at 1:38 p.m. local time.
