Initial reports suggested no survivors, but Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G.S. Malik indicated that rescue
teams are still searching for potential survivors.More than 200 bodies have been recovered from the wreckage.
Air India CEO Campbell Wilson stated that injured passengers have been transported to nearby hospitals. At
Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital, Dr. Dhaval Gameti examined Vishwashkumar Ramesh, the lone survivor. “He was
disoriented, with multiple injuries all over his body. But he seems to be out of danger,” Gameti said.

Of those aboard, 169 were Indian nationals, 53 British, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian. Lawmaker Sambit
Patra reported that Vijay Rupani, former chief minister of Gujarat, is among the deceased.
Local media reports indicate the plane crashed into a medical college accommodation building near Ahmedabad’s
airport. At least five people at the accommodation building are believed to have died in the incident, with
many others injured or missing.
