A’ja Wilson Injury: Aces vs. Wings Game Outlook
Bueckers Leads Wings into Aces Clash; Wilson Injured
Updated June 13, 2025

Paige Bueckers, showing no signs of rust after missing four games, is set to lead the Dallas Wings against the las Vegas Aces on friday. The Aces may be without A’ja wilson, who suffered a head injury.
Bueckers is coming off a career-high 35-point performance in the Wings’ 93-80 loss to the Phoenix Mercury. She shot 13-of-19 from the field and made five 3-pointers,joining caitlin Clark as the only rookies in WNBA history to reach at least 35 points and five 3-pointers in a single game. This stellar performance followed a three-game absence due to a concussion and another game missed because of illness.
“I mean, I was coming back from a break and I feel like I could have used my voice more, been more disruptive, crashed the glass more,” Bueckers said. “So as I get my wind under me, I’ll be better in those areas… just trying to contribute in other areas and whatever that looks like on any given night and will try to put my full effort toward that.”
The Wings (1-10) have lost six consecutive games as they head into the matchup with the Aces (4-4). Las Vegas is potentially missing three-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson, who sustained a head injury during Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Wilson took a hard elbow to the nose in the Aces’ 97-89 loss to the Sparks. She left the game with 1:17 remaining in the third quarter and did not return. In that game, Wilson scored 13 points on 2-of-12 shooting, adding eight rebounds, five assists, and four blocks.
Defense was a major issue for Las Vegas against los Angeles. the Sparks shot 83.3 percent in the first 14 minutes, building a significant lead. Los Angeles shot 56.9 percent from the field.
Jackie Young scored a career-high 34 points, and Chelsea Gray added a season-high 28 for Las Vegas in the losing effort.
“We score 89 points and we only had two good offensive production nights: Chelsea and Jackie. Everybody else were stinkers,” Las Vegas coach Becky Hammon said. “The bench was a stinker. But 89 points should be enough to win a game. You can’t give up 50 points at halftime. We’re still searching for that 40-minute game. It’s like a damn unicorn.”
Friday’s game is part of the Commissioner’s Cup competition. Both teams are currently at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, with the Aces at 1-2 and the Wings at 0-4.
What’s next
The Dallas Wings hope paige Bueckers can maintain her high level of play as they seek to break their losing streak against a potentially weakened Las Vegas Aces team. The Aces, meanwhile, will need to shore up their defense and find consistent offensive contributions beyond Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray if A’ja Wilson is unable to play.
