Al-Ahly Denies Saudi Offer for Star Midfielder Marwan Attia
Cairo, Egypt – Al-Ahly Sporting Club has vehemently denied reports circulating about a potential transfer of star midfielder Marwan Attia to Saudi Arabian club Al-Fateh.
Journalist Ahmed Schubert, speaking on “On Sport FM” radio, stated that he received confirmation from Al-Ahly officials that there is “no basis in truth” to the rumors of an offer for Attia. The club reportedly denied the news “fully and in detail.”
Schubert emphasized the club’s commitment to a well-defined plan for the future, stating that the board of directors, led by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, is working diligently to implement it step by step.
“No one is working alone,” Schubert explained. “Everyone is working in files: Al-Khatib, his board of directors, Marcel Kohler, the technical director, Mohammed Ramadan, the sports director, and the scouting administration.”
This denial comes amidst speculation that Al-Fateh’s new coach, Jose Gomez, was interested in acquiring Attia during the upcoming winter transfer window.
