Officials at Egyptian club Al-Ahly have made a move to sign Moroccan midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri from Italian club Fiorentina.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina received an offer from an Egyptian club to sign the 27-year-old Sabiri. The player has responded to the offer, but his response differs from that of Fiorentina’s technical director Roberto Gorti.
Gorti confirmed that Al-Ahly made an offer through an intermediary to sign Sabiri, and the player was informed of the details of the offer. However, Sabiri has yet to respond to the offer.
Abdelhamid Sabiri joined Fiorentina from Sampdoria in January 2023 but spent the remainder of the season on loan to his former team. He then moved to Al-Fayaha in the summer of 2023, where he spent the season on loan.
