Al-Ahly Soars to New Heights: The ‘New Eagles’ Set to Take Flight in Egypt
Al-Ahly Close to Signing New Striker Youssef Salik
Egyptian club Al-Ahly are on the verge of bolstering their attack with the signing of a new striker before the summer transfer window closes in Egypt.
According to reports from On Time sports channel, Al-Ahly club president Mahmoud Al-Khatib is determined to secure a contract with Palestinian striker Youssef Salik, who currently plays for Swedish Serie A team Sirius.
However, the Swedish club’s financial demands have been a major stumbling block in the negotiations. Sirius is reportedly seeking around 2 million dollars to release their striker, a figure that Al-Ahly considers excessive.
Al-Khatib has expressed his disappointment with the Swedish club’s demands, stating that there was an initial rejection of the idea of signing Salik, followed by an exaggeration of the required transfer fee.
Despite this, Al-Ahly remains committed to signing Salik and is working to reduce the transfer fee. The club has assured the Swedish team that the amount of 2 million euros is too high and is seeking a more reasonable agreement.
Swiss coach Marcel Kohler was initially hesitant to include Salik in the team, but has since agreed to sign the striker, citing the successful experience of Wissam Abu Ali, who led Al-Ahly to league and African Champions League wins.
A decision on the transfer is expected to be made on Thursday, with the transfer window set to close in Egypt.
Al-Ahly’s Recent Signings
Al-Ahly has already made several key signings in recent weeks, including Moroccan duo Ashraf Dari and Yahya Atiya Allah, Qatari Al-Duhail defender Youssef Ayman, and Ismaili midfielder Omar Al-Saee.
