Sudan’s Al Hilal secured a crucial 2-2 draw against Ivory Coast’s San Pedro in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the African Champions League.
The match, held in Ivory Coast, saw San Pedro take an early lead with two goals. However, Al Hilal’s Mohamed Abdel Rahman equalized in the 42nd minute, bringing the score to 1-1 at halftime.
In the second half, San Pedro’s Al-Ijiri scored the second goal in the 65th minute, but Al Hilal’s relentless pressure paid off. Mohamed Abdel Rahman scored the equalizing goal in the 85th minute, securing a vital draw for his team.
The result brings Al Hilal closer to qualifying for the group stage, with the return match scheduled to be held in Juba, South Sudan.
