Al-Najma joined the victims of “yellow”.
Al-Najma’s first football team, “First Division”, eliminated its opponents, Damak, from the custodians of the Two Holy Mosque Cup in the fifth surprise match, after defeating them with a score of “2-0” during the match. The two teams are together in the round of 32 at the Education Department Stadium in Unaizah on Wednesday.
Al-Najma joined four clubs from the “Yellow” League for first-class clubs, which managed to reach the final stage of the season’s most expensive tournament at the expense of clubs from the Saudi Roshan League, namely: Al-Arabi, Al-Tai, Al-Jandal, and Al-Jabalin, which topped Al-Khaliz, Al-Ahli and Al-Fateh by four times, respectively.
Al-Najma waited until the 60th minute to score against the visitors through a penalty kick by Brazilian Leo Teleca, before Algerian-born Frenchman Bilal Awasharia extended his side’s lead with a second goal in the 86th minute.
The goal was Awashreya’s first appearance for the club since signing to replace Spaniard Guy Dembele, who left for Diyarria last week.
Al-Najma repeated the scene of last season by defeating Damak, when it defeated Al-Rayed “2-1” in the round of 32 of the competition.
On the other hand, Damak have been eliminated from the competition in the first round for the third time in the last four editions.
