Al-Riyadh newspaper Barcelona lost on its 125th anniversary
Las Palmas defeated Barcelona 2-1, spoiling Barcelona’s 125th anniversary on Saturday. Barcelona has not won in their last three Spanish Premier League matches.
Despite holding 70% possession and making about 30 attempts on goal, Barcelona could not convert their chances. They currently have 34 points and lead Real Madrid by four points, though Real Madrid has two games left. Las Palmas sits in 14th place with 15 points.
Las Palmas took advantage of their opportunities. They scored first with a goal by Sandro Ramirez early in the second half, marking a moment against his former team. Barcelona responded after bringing on substitute Amin Gamal, who recently won the Golden Boy award. Pedri assisted Rafinha, who equalized with a well-placed shot.
However, Las Palmas regained the lead when Fabio Silva, on loan from Wolverhampton, scored after receiving a pass from Gabby Munoz.
