Albany Great Danes Baseball and Lacrosse Teams Dominate NJIT in Series Finale and Conference Play

The University at Albany men’s lacrosse team secured a perfect conference record with a 9-8 victory over NJIT on Saturday night, completing an undefeated run in America East play.

The win, which came on Senior Night, improved the Great Danes’ overall record and capped off a strong finish to the regular season. Albany’s defense held firm in the closing minutes to preserve the one-goal margin against a determined NJIT squad.

Silas Richmond led the offensive charge with an eight-point performance, combining four goals and four assists to power Albany’s attack. His contribution proved decisive in a tightly contested match that saw both teams trade leads throughout the game.

Baseball Team Faces Setback in Series Finale

In contrast to the lacrosse team’s success, the University at Albany baseball squad suffered a shutout loss in the series finale against NJIT on Sunday. The defeat ended Albany’s hopes of sweeping the three-game series after taking the first two contests.
