WTEN Albany Loses Two Journalists: Anchor Trishna Begam adn Ireland walker
Albany’s WTEN, News10, is seeing changes in its newsroom. Anchor Trishna Begam announced she will leave the station in July.Multimedia journalist Ireland Walker has already left the station.
Begam, in a statement on the station’s website, said she is leaving to spend more time with her family. Her tenure with News10 spanned nearly 13 years, starting in 2012.
walker joined WTEN in May of last year after graduating from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse school of Public Communications. she majored in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and minored in Political Science.

News Director Ryan Mott acknowledged walker’s departure, telling the Albany Times Union, “We appreciate her enthusiasm and work ethic. She grew tremendously over the past year. We wish her the best in the next steps of her career.”
This July,I have decided to step away from a career I have loved so deeply as collage. I’ve spent more than 16 years growing as a journalist, nearly 13 of those have been at NEWS10, my home away from home.
