The deadly crash took place before 9:50 p.m. In the parking lot of the VIA Apartments on Montgomery Boulevard, according to reporting from KOB. The rider of the electric scooter, identified by KRQE as a woman, died as a result of the incident.
Investigators determined that the vehicle involved was traveling southbound while the electric scooter was moving northbound within the parking lot. Police did not release specific details regarding the exact cause or sequence of the collision. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and spoke with investigators.
Additional Incident on Lomas Boulevard
In a separate incident early Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Albuquerque police responded to another vehicle crash in the same area of the city. Around 5 a.m., a vehicle struck a man on Lomas Boulevard, just west of Juan Tabo Boulevard.
The man sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision. The Albuquerque Police Department is currently investigating both crashes.
