Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, cruised into the Queen’s Club semifinals Friday, defeating France’s Arthur rinderknech 7-5, 6-4. This victory keeps Alcaraz on track as he prepares for Wimbledon. The Wimbledon champion acknowledged feeling physically better than expected after a demanding previous match.
Alcaraz extended his winning streak to 16 matches by converting both of his break points against Rinderknech.He previously defeated Rinderknech at the same event two years ago, ultimately winning the Queen’s Club title.
Jack Draper also secured a spot in the semifinals, defeating American Brandon nakashima 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. This win marks Draper’s first Queen’s Club semifinal appearance and solidifies his position as a top-four seed at Wimbledon.
Roberto Bautista Agut will face Alcaraz in the semifinals after defeating fourth-seed holger Rune 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-2. This was Bautista Agut’s first victory over Rune in four attempts. Despite saving 12 of 14 break points, Rune could not overcome Bautista Agut in the deciding set.
