Forget battling supermarket crowds and last-minute dashes for dinner ingredients! ALDI has officially launched a grocery delivery trial in Canberra, partnering with DoorDash to bring the convenience of on-demand shopping directly to your doorstep. This marks a important step for the German discount supermarket, traditionally reliant on in-store experiences. Let’s explore everything you need to know about this exciting new service.
ALDI & DoorDash: A Match Made for Convenience
For years, ALDI’s success has been built on its unique shopping model – a streamlined experience focused on value and efficiency within its stores. But times are changing, and consumer demand for convenience is higher than ever. Recognizing this shift,ALDI has teamed up with DoorDash,a leading food delivery platform,to pilot grocery delivery in the Australian Capital Territory.
This isn’t just about adding another delivery option; it’s about adapting to how you wont to shop. whether you’re juggling a busy work schedule, have limited mobility, or simply prefer the ease of online ordering, ALDI’s DoorDash partnership aims to make grocery shopping simpler and more accessible.
“We are thrilled to partner with ALDI to deliver greater convenience, choice and affordability to the people of Canberra,” says Simon Rossi, DoorDash APAC vice president. “This partnership…represents an exciting step forward in how DoorDash is redefining how Aussies can shop for groceries.”
How Does ALDI Delivery with DoorDash Work?
The process is incredibly straightforward. Here’s a step-by-step guide to getting your ALDI favourites delivered:
- Download the App (or Head Online): Simply download the DoorDash app on your smartphone (available for iOS and Android) or visit the DoorDash website.
- Search for ALDI: Once you’re logged in, search for “ALDI” within the app or on the website.
- build Your Cart: Browse the available ALDI products and add your desired items to your cart. Currently, the trial focuses solely on groceries.
- Choose a Delivery Window: Select a delivery time that suits your schedule – options include on-demand, same-day, or scheduled deliveries.
- Dashers Take Over: Once your order is placed, a DoorDash “Dasher” will collect your groceries from the nearest ALDI store and deliver them directly to your door.
It’s that easy! You can finally enjoy ALDI’s astonishing prices and quality without leaving the comfort of your home.
What About those Famous ALDI Special Buys?
While this trial is fantastic news for grocery shoppers, there’s one caveat. Currently, the DoorDash delivery service only includes groceries. You’ll still need to visit your local ALDI store in person to snag those coveted Special Buys found in the center aisle.
ALDI confirms this is intentional for the trial phase, preserving the unique in-store experience that many customers enjoy.
