Aldyl Energía is launching a 13-well rehabilitation project in Venezuela’s Orinoco Oil Belt, installing an H-108 hydraulic rig at Campo Uverito to restart the dormant UV 208 well. The initial well holds a net daily potential of approximately 100 barrels, forming the first phase of an expansion strategy that targets 1,100 barrels per day of production by 2026 through the recovery of existing assets rather than greenfield drilling.

H-108 Rig Begins Rehabilitation of Campo Uverito Wells

The arrival of the H-108—identified as a Drillmec HH-102 hydraulic rig fully refurbished following operations in Argentina and Brazil—establishes the operational starting point at Campo Uverito. Following the initial intervention at the UV 208 well, which has remained out of operation since 2014, the rig will systematically progress across the remaining 12 wells tied to the program.

Well reacondicionamiento operations address closures caused by mechanical failures, equipment deterioration, blockages, or pressure loss. These interventions deploy cleaning protocols, casing repairs, tubing replacements, and lifting system installations to restore crude flow.

Regional Fleet Expansion and Capital Efficiency

The deployment expands Aldyl Energía’s regional footprint in Venezuela, where the company already operates five active rigs and plans to introduce four additional units. This fleet growth builds upon an initial delivery of four Drillmec units received in July at the port of Guanta in Anzoátegui state.

The cross-border mobilization of these assets from Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil involved an approximate investment of US$20 million. Rehabilitation strategies generate additional barrels over shorter timeframes and with lower capital requirements compared to full field developments.

Production Goals Depend on Well Intervention Outcomes

The projected output of 1,100 barrels per day during 2026 relies entirely on the individual outcomes of each well intervention, the mechanical integrity of the infrastructure, and subsurface reservoir behavior. Aldyl Energía has not disclosed specific timelines for individual well workovers or the exact capital allocation dedicated specifically to the Campo Uverito program.
