Alexandria Weather Update: Rainfall and Thunderstorms Expected to Continue
Alexandria witnessed a relative improvement in weather conditions on Monday morning, with the rain stopping and the sun shining intermittently after a rainy night. The previous day and early morning saw moderate to heavy rainfall, sometimes thundery, in Alexandria and parts of the north coast, without affecting traffic or marine navigation in the ports of Alexandria and Sheila.
The Alexandria Sanitation Company has announced the continued evacuation of the emergency and the company’s preparedness, with vacuum trucks deployed on the streets due to weather forecasts of the continued possibility of rain.
Weather Forecast and Warnings
Meteorological authorities expect colder weather to continue tonight and early morning, with moderate rainfall in Alexandria Governorate and the northern coast, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms. Citizens are advised not to touch doors and metals that conduct electrical charges and not to stand under trees in case of thunder and lightning.
Precautions and Preparations
Major General Mahmoud Nafi, head of the Alexandria Sanitation Company, emphasized the continued suspension of rest and rest breaks and the intensification of disinfection work in all elements of the network, including “al-Shanayesh, al-Taqwafi, and cesspools of lifting and treatment stations.”
