The Pioneers improved to 12-4 on the season and advanced to face St. Mary’s College of Maryland in the AMCC x United East Crossover Championship game scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Katerina Strong led Alfred State with five goals and two assists, while Karlee Hargather contributed four goals and four assists. Alaina Gernatt scored four goals, and Maeve Runyon earned the win in goal with five saves.
Hargather opened the scoring with back-to-back goals, followed by Strong’s goal assisted by Regan Curabba. Gernatt added an unassisted goal in the final seconds of the first quarter to give Alfred State a 4-0 lead.
After Pitt-Bradford scored to open the second quarter, Erica Jackson found Brooke Walsh for a 5-1 lead. Later in the quarter, Strong scored her 45th goal of the season to extend the lead to 6-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Alfred State maintained its offensive momentum, scoring five goals in both the third and fourth quarters. The Pioneers’ third-quarter surge began with a Hargather-to-Strong goal, followed by Jackson’s fast-break goal for an 8-1 advantage.
Pitt-Bradford responded with a goal before Walsh scored her second goal of the game off a Kari Annunziato pass. In the final two minutes of the third quarter, Gernatt and Strong each scored to push the lead to 11-2 heading into the fourth quarter.
Hargather set up Strong to open the fourth-quarter scoring, and Jackson added another fast-break goal as Alfred State outscored Pitt-Bradford 5-1 in the final period to secure the 16-3 championship victory.
The win marks Alfred State’s first AMCC women’s lacrosse title and earns the program an automatic berth in the AMCC x United East Crossover Championship game against St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
